How do you build inclusion into the experience of a global sporting event?

This week, PHTO26 welcomed students and faculty from the National University of Singapore's Global Experience (GEx) program, led by Dr. Bjorn Gomes, as part of their Toronto course on Diversity and Inclusion in Governance.

Their visit explored how inclusive spaces are intentionally designed—not only for athletes, but also for fans, volunteers, and communities.

Through conversations with our volunteer committee and experiencing the excitement of a World Cup knockout match, students experienced how PHTO26 creates belonging for 2SLGBTQI+ people, allies, and the broader community.

We were honoured to be included in their Toronto learning journey and thank Dr. Gomes and the GEx cohort for their thoughtful engagement.
