One Week Later: Thank You for Making Pride House a Home

It's hard to believe it's already been a week since we closed the doors on Pride House Toronto 2026. After five unforgettable weeks, the TVs have been packed away, the furniture returned and the last volunteer shift has come to an end. We've finally had a chance to reflect on what we created together.

Looking back on more than 4,500 visits, what we'll remember most isn't the football. It's the people. The friendships formed between strangers over a match. Families spending an afternoon together on the waterfront. Volunteers welcoming every guest with warmth. First-time visitors who found a space where they could simply be themselves.

PHTO26 welcomed people from across Toronto, across Canada and around the world. Some came to cheer on their national team. Others came looking for community. Many came for both. More than a watch party, PHTO26 became a place where people could gather, connect and belong.

That is the legacy we hope endures. PHTO26 leaves behind more than memories of an incredible summer. It leaves behind the belief that sport has the power to bring people together, that inclusive recreation matters, and that everyone deserves to experience the joy of the game in a space where they feel safe, welcomed and valued.

PHTO26 now joins a proud legacy of Canadian Pride Houses, following Vancouver 2010 and Toronto 2015, alongside Pride House initiatives around the world. While our House has closed, we know the conversations, relationships and momentum it created will continue long after the final whistle.
